Privacy

Layacut has no servers, no accounts, and collects nothing. On an iPhone, an iPad or a Mac, your clips, your music, the reels you make, and everything the app works out about them stay on the device you made them on.

Nothing. There is no analytics, no telemetry about you, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no newsletter signup. We do not know who you are, what you filmed, or that you opened the app.

Nothing, with one exception you control. Layacut makes no network requests in normal use. If you buy Layacut Pro, that purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, your email, or your payment details, only whether this copy is entitled to Pro. The only other thing that reaches the network is the Terms and Privacy links on the paywall, which open these pages in your browser when you tap them.

Layacut reads your footage where it already lives and never copies it: the files you point it at on a Mac, and your own Photos library on an iPhone or iPad, matched by the clips' own bytes. It keeps what it works out about a clip in a cache on the device so it does not have to read the clip twice, and removing the app removes that cache. Nothing in it leaves the device.

Layacut is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

No trackers, no cookies set by us, and nothing fetched from another company. The pictures are carried inside the page and the header video is a file on this same site.

If this policy ever changes, the date at the foot of this page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
