Layacut is an app for iPhone, iPad and Mac that cuts reels on the device itself. It is free to use. Layacut Pro is an optional annual subscription. We collect nothing about you and we cannot see your footage.

Layacut is licensed, not sold. Your use of it is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where anything here conflicts with that agreement, that agreement wins.

Layacut Pro is an auto-renewing annual subscription. It adds export at 1080p, 4K and 8K, turning the Layacut mark off, and your own closing card in place of the Layacut one. One subscription covers your iPhone, your iPad and your Mac. Everything else is free, including export at 720p, every reel style, every gauge, and cutting the same footage as many times as you like.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours of the end of that period.

You can manage or cancel at any time: on iPhone and iPad in Settings under your Apple Account, on a Mac in System Settings under your Apple Account. Canceling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running to its end. There is no free trial: the free tier is the trial.

Your footage is yours. Layacut claims no rights over anything you import or export. Because the app runs entirely on your own device, we never receive a copy of any of it.

You are responsible for having the right to use the music you choose and the footage you import. Layacut ships a small set of tracks that are cleared to use and names their licenses in CREDITS. Anything you supply yourself is yours to clear.

Layacut is provided as it is. Automatic editing is a judgment, not a certainty, and the reel it makes is a starting point you can change. We do not promise it will choose the moments you would have chosen.

Keep your own copies of your footage. Layacut references your files where they sit and never copies them, so it is not a backup and must not be relied on as one.

Layacut runs on an iPhone or iPad with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later, and on a Mac with Apple Silicon running macOS 26 or later. It is not sold for and does not run on Intel Macs. Apple Intelligence makes the cut smarter where it is turned on, and Layacut still cuts without it.
